Roles and Permission

Article summary

The following two roles are defined by default in Onexfort.

App Administrator

The App Administrator has access to all menus in the web application and has access to the mobile app as well. No restrictions can be applied to the app administrator and the permissions of the app administrator cannot be modified. If you don't want a user to have unrestricted access to the application, do not assign this role to the user. The users will app administrator roles can also be assigned jobs just like a field worker.

Field Worker

A field worker does not have access to the web application. The users assigned this role can only access the mobile app. 

Other Roles

You can create your own roles and assign them to users. Examples of roles are Sales Person, Operations Manager etc.

  • To create a new role, click on the + icon, enter the role name, and a description for the role and click on Save.
  • To edit or delete an existing role, click on the three dots and choose the appropriate action. 

Permissions

To edit the permissions of a new role defined, click on the three dots in the Action column and choose 'Permissions'. The Permissions page will open and show a list of all the menus and sub-menus in Onexfort. You can use the toggler button shown adjacent to every menu and sub-menu to turn on or turn off the menu. If the menu is turned off, the users who are assigned this role will not be able to see the restricted menus.
